(posted 4/17:20:10) CUNY delays implementation of secure access to SIMS etc.
CUNY has postponed the implementation of secure access to the mainframe until Friday, April 20 at
8:00 am. Until then the old versions of the tn3270 emulators will continue to work.

(posted 4/17: 20:12) Home access to student records
Faculty and staff may still have access to SIMS from home. As of Friday, this access will be limited to
the use of secure terminal emulation using SSL only. The new CUNY Hummingbird terminal emulation
client will not be available for home use. ICIT will shortly be recommending a secure tn3270 client
that faculty and staff will be able to use from home.

(posted 4/17: 20:15) Changes to student records
CUNY security policy forbids the changing of student personal data in student records from off-
campus sites. Student personal data does not include the setting of permissions for students to
enroll in courses or the use of the webgrade program. These items may be changed from home.
