The Hunger and Environmental Nutrition (HEN) Special Interest Group of the Greater New York Dietetic Association presents:

 

“GMOs and Eco-labels: Getting More Of the Story”

 

Date: May 10th, 2012

 

Time: 6:30 – 8:30pm, Check-in and Networking: 6pm

Location: CUNY School of Public Health at Hunter College

                2180 Third Av (at E. 119th St)

 

Concerned about your health and the health of the environment?  Confused about the labeling and safety of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in our agricultural system?  Want to know more about your legal rights as a consumer?   Join us for an expert panel discussion addressing:

 

· The history, safety, and science behind GMOs;

· Transparency with regard to food and eco-labels;

· Our legal rights as consumers to know what’s in our food;

· Steps you can take to ensure that you are making informed choices.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Carolyn Dimitri

Research Associate Professor of Food Studies, NYU.

 

Hunter students and faculty are invited to attend for free.
