The University of Illinois still has space available for the Fall  2013 semester program in Sierra Leone on  Global Health,Nutrition, Water and Sanitation. Priority deadline is April 19 and the final deadline is June 3, 2013.



This intensive, semester program is open to students interested in global/public/community health, nursing, pre-med, nutrition and other applied health sciences, engineering and international studies. There is no language requirement.



This program provides students with the opportunity to improve their understanding of global health issues in West Africa through coursework and a field-based  community project. The fall semester is  hosted by Njala University and students will take courses taught by both Illinois and Njala faculty.



Students will take a set of courses which include:

*Agriculture and Human Health

*Food Fortification

*Introduction to Epidemiology

*International Nutrition Policies

*Field based community service learning  project

Location and accommodation:  The fall semester takes place at Njala University in Njala, Sierra Leone. Extensive field trips throughout the country are built into the semester experience. Students will live in private university dorm rooms.
