Subject: PROG: CIEE South Korea Scholarship-University Spring Break Program
2012

Dear Colleagues,

CIEE has partnered with the Korea Foundation, a nonprofit organization aimed
at promoting awareness and understanding of Korea, to offer an all-expense
paid scholarship for 75 U.S. university students to take part in the
Korea/U.S. Youth Network 2012. The CIEE South Korea Scholarship--University
Spring Break Program is open to students with spring break from March 10-18
2012

Selected participants will spend nine days in South Korea from March 10-18
2012. This program is designed for students who have had little to no
previous exposure to Korean culture. Students are hosted by Yonsei
University located in Seoul, South Korea. Yonsei will organize academic
lectures, tours, and cultural excursions throughout the program.

   - Applicants must have completed one semester of university courses, have
a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must demonstrate through the application process
their flexibility, maturity, adaptability, and readiness to face challenges
of interacting in a new culture.
   - The application deadline is January 9, 2012 (late applications may be
considered on a case-by-case basis)

The scholarship covers the following: International flight to and from South
Korea from a designated U.S. Gateway city, housing, meals, lectures and
excursions. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses to and
from the U.S. gateway city. This program is the perfect opportunity for
students who do not have time to spend a full semester or academic year
abroad, but are looking for a short term opportunity to explore Korean
culture.
