> It's almost Spring time -- which means gardens across the city will be opening up their gates to volunteers interested in learning more about urban agriculture and food systems. If you know anyone interested in gaining a unique perspective on the public health nutrition movement, please encourage them to volunteer with Edible Schoolyard NYC.
>
> Edible Schoolyard NYC partners with public schools to build gardens and kitchen classrooms where children can engage in hands-on learning. Our goal is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and environment required to make healthier choices and change the way they eat…for life.
>
> Volunteers are integral to our success, and through their efforts set an example to students and the community about the value of caring and service. While children and families accomplish much of the work, but many projects are most appropriate for adults. Volunteers work to further the beauty and productivity of the garden, and maintain spaces for learning and exploration. All levels of experience are welcome here! And we have both long-term and one-time opportunities available.
>
> Please see the attached flier for more details! And please forward widely. We will be hosting a volunteer orientation on Tuesday, March 12th at 10am.
>
> Any interested volunteers can complete our Online Volunteer Registration Form.<https://docs.google.com/a/esynyc.org/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dExTdUxQb3FuYnNpVm9lQXRzQUtWRUE6MQ#gid=0>
