Healthy Hospital Environments: 

In August 2010, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity convened an expert panel on policy and environmental approaches to improve food, physical activity, breastfeeding and tobacco-free environments in hospitals. This report summarizes the meeting proceedings and presents recommendations for action for hospitals and/or public health practitioners. MUST HAVE AT LEAST 3YRS professional nutrition exWIC EXP a plusperience 

This is a long-term full-time temporary position, working in the downstate regional office of the NYS WIC Program. We are looking for a nutritionist with community or public health nutrition experience. Knowledge of WIC, preferred. The position entails working with regional office nutritionists and administrators who are responsible for managing WIC contracted agencies in the metropolitan NY region. 

The major job tasks are: Annual evaluation of contracted agencies based on standardized assessment tools and procedures, providing technical assistance and training of WIC local agency staff based on knowledge of WIC policies and memos, all under the umbrella of the WICSIS (WIC Statewide Information System). Regional travel required.  Other tasks include analysis of monthly WICSIS, breast feeding and other reports, site development, and etc.
