POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Slow Food USA seeks a motivated, energetic Marketing Intern to join and support our efforts to change the food system in the United States. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and strong enthusiasm for our work.
Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization with members in over 150 countries and 1,300 volunteer-led chapters around the world. We were founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast food and the disappearance of local food cultures. Today, we coordinate local, national and global programs and campaigns to achieve our vision of a world where everyone can enjoy food that’s good for them, good for farmers and workers and good for the planet.
The U.S. branch, Slow Food USA, is a national nonprofit with a small staff based in Brooklyn, NY and over 200 volunteer-led chapters nationwide. The Marketing Intern will support multi-platform content development projects and promotional campaigns for Slow Food USA.He or she will gain knowledge and skills in the areas of marketing, social media, digital communication, and content development.
DUTIES:

•      Drafting food news briefings

•      Researching, producing and curating content related to Slow Food values

•      Producing online communication through website, email and social networks
QUALIFICATIONS:

•       College junior/senior or graduate student

•       Interest in content development and distribution

•       Excellent writing and editing skills

•       Familiarity with the food movement and food-related organizations

•       Ability in and comfort with working independently

•       Demonstrated commitment to Slow Food

•       Social media skills, including Facebook and Twitter, preferred
START DATE: TBD
A minimum of 10 hours per week is required for all cycles. Fall and spring internships also require a minimum duration of three months. Internships are unpaid; however, students may earn academic credit.
