> Community Catalyst Health Equity Call – March 5th
> Join Community Catalyst for the Health Equity Call Series: New Opportunity to Address Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities for Medicare and Medicaid Beneficiaries. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) offers a unique opportunity to address racial and ethnic health disparities for individuals who are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligibles). Twenty four states<https://www.cms.gov/Medicare-Medicaid-Coordination/Medicare-and-Medicaid-Coordination/Medicare-Medicaid-Coordination-Office/FinancialModelstoSupportStatesEffortsinCareCoordination.html> are working on demonstration projects to better integrate services for dual eligibles and eliminate misalignments between the Medicare and Medicaid programs. But, only a few states are using this new opportunity to address racial and ethnic health disparities. The dual eligible population is disproportionately non-white<http://www.kff.org/medicaid/upload/7895-02.pdf> and they experience a high rate of health disparities. The next call will be on Tuesday March 5th from 3:00-4:00PM Eastern Time, and will provide information and strategies on how more of these projects can tackle disparities. Register here<http://www.kintera.org/autogen/home/default.asp?ievent=1061688> by Friday, March 1, 2013. If you have any questions, please contact Quynh Chi Nguyen, Health Equity Team Lead at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> (617-275-2872).
