2019-2020
Dear MAPS Members,
As the semester is coming to an end, it is time for us to elect the new e-board for the upcoming 2019-2020 year. Below is the information for the upcoming election. The E-Board is meant to ensure organization and efficiency. Please make sure to read the rules before you nominate yourself for the listed positions. There are 4 positions that you can run for are as follows- President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Remember that all of these positions require immense commitment, time, effort, and a lot of connections. Only apply if you feel fit to serve the position as MAPS represent the largest Pre-Medical club at Hunter.
The deadline for the nomination period is Monday 29th April 2019 by 11:59 PM. Shortly after, we will announce the date for election day for a short speech and voting period. Here are the following rules regarding the election nomination eligibility:
* Must be an undergraduate to run for the E-Board positions
* Must have at least a 2.0 GPA and registered for at least 6 credits
* Must not hold more than one position
B. Here are the responsibilities of each position. Please make sure to look through them carefully before you submit the nomination form:
1. President:
* Be an example of a proper leader
* Oversee the club and its departments with knowledge of each departments duties and goals
* Connect with health professionals to plan events
* Meet the yearly goals for the club
* Follow the club constitution, club's code of conduct, and policies and guidelines implemented by Hunter
* Experienced with the club and its components which includes the departments
* Attend all club meetings
* Create and present events with the approval of the committee
* Must spend at least 95% of the budget or disqualifies themselves from running an office.
2. Vice-President:
* Assist the president with duties
* Attend club meetings
* Follow the club constitution, club's code of conduct, and policies and guidelines implemented by Hunter
* Act as temporary chairperson, in the event a director is unable to fulfill their duties
3. Secretary:
* Record minutes and attendance of every meetings and event
* Keep copies of original paperwork
* Coordinate and chair the meetings with the president
* Attend all club meetings
* Be familiar with the club constitution, Hunter guidelines, and external affairs
* Be organized and detailed in terms of paperwork, minutes and communications as it pertains
* Oversee the List-serv (MailChimp) alongside the Communication Director
4. Treasurer
* Be organized and attentive of all the club's budget and funding
* Prepare the club budget and get approval from USG and College Association
* Regulate the club funding
* Know and follow the club constitution and Hunter funding policies
* Prepare paperwork for reimbursements
C. The Election process is as follows:
* Candidate nomination form due- Monday 29th April 2019 by 11:59 PM
* Candidate statements (1-minute speech)- TBA
* Official voting period- TBA
