Full-time Research Data Associate (Kings County)
NYU’s Department of General Internal Medicine is seeking a temporary full-time Research Data Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personalized motivational coaching for weight management for youth (ages 2 to 22) and their families at Kings County Medical Center. The Research Data Associate will complete intake evaluations; conduct ongoing assessments to track participant progress in setting health goals and making lifestyle changes; coordinate with clinic staff; schedule and track visits/calls with patients/families; perform data entry; assist with general administrative tasks for the project; and other job duties as assigned. Excellent time management, and interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Some travel to sites within New York City will be required.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
 Work with patients and families to develop specific plans to improve healthy behavior goals
 Follow-up with patients via email, phone, text, or in-clinic appointments;
 Offer external or clinic-based resources to facilitate patients’ goals;
 Work with clinic staff to promote the program and encourage referral and enrollment;
 Attend weekly huddles and other meetings with clinic staff;
 Keep concise records logging visit and follow-up information
Qualifications:
 A bachelor’s degree preferably in behavioral or other social science or a health related discipline; Master’s in Public Health or related field preferred but not required;
 Flexibility and adaptability to work in a high-volume hospital outpatient clinic;
 Familiarity with the communities of central and eastern Brooklyn and a broad understanding of the challenges patients from these communities face;
 Availability to communicate with patients outside of clinic hours;
 Experience in teaching, counseling, or working with children and adolescents
