Part-time Research Data Associate (Lincoln Medical Center)
NYU’s Department of General Internal Medicine is seeking a temporary part-time Research Data Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personalized motivational coaching in weight management for youth (ages 11 to 22) and their families at Lincoln Medical Center. The Research Data Associate will also complete intake evaluations; conduct ongoing assessments to track participant progress in setting goals and making lifestyle changes; coordinate with clinic staff; schedule and track visits/calls with patients/families; perform data entry; assist with general administrative tasks for the project; and other job duties as assigned. Fluency in Spanish is required as well as excellent time management and interpersonal skills. Some travel to sites within New York City will be required.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Work with patients and families to develop specific plans to improve healthy behavior goals
• Follow-up with patients via email, phone, text, or in-clinic appointments;
• Offer external or clinic-based resources to facilitate patients’ goals;
• Translation of project documents and materials;
• Work with clinic staff to promote the program and encourage referral and enrollment;
• Attend weekly huddles and other meetings with clinic staff;
• Keep concise records logging visit and follow-up information;
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree preferably in behavioral or other social science or a health related discipline; Master’s in Public Health or related field preferred but not required;
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a high-volume hospital outpatient clinic;
• Familiarity with the communities of the south Bronx and a broad understanding of the challenges patients from these communities face
• Availability to communicate with patients outside of clinic hours;
• Experience in teaching, counseling, or working with children and adolescents
