Peer Health Exchange (PHE) is a non-profit organization that gives teenagers the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in public high schools that lack health education.  

PHE Health Educators are volunteers. They will learn to teach two of the PHE workshops, and they will teach them in public high schools. PHE Health Educators will be:
o	Workshop experts
o	Workshop teachers
Time Commitment
o	September to May 
o	4 – 6 hours per week to:
•	Teach at least one weekly workshop 
•	Attend a Volunteer Orientation and Health Educator Training Retreat
•	Attend weekly Workshop Group meetings in the fall and spring semester
•	Practice independently, as needed
Responsibilities
PHE Health Educators will:
o	Learn two PHE workshops and how to teach them effectively
•	Attend the mandatory PHE Volunteer Orientation on Friday, Oct. 10 6-8pm
•	Attend the mandatory Health Educator Training Retreat on Sunday, Oct. 11 10am-5pm
•	Attend mandatory weekly Workshop Group Meetings led by a Leadership Council Member on Wednesdays 2pm-3pm 
•	Incorporate direction and evaluation from their Leadership Council Member in order to develop and improve their teaching skills
•	Pass both the Teaching Skills Evaluation and the Content Test for both workshops 
o	Teach their PHE workshops
•	Teach their workshops in PHE Partner High Schools at least once per week for the entire academic year between the hours of 8am-3pm on Fridays
•	Observe other PHE workshops
•	Support the PHE program through additional volunteer opportunities
o	Make PHE an extracurricular priority
Qualifications
PHE is looking for someone who:
o	Is committed to the PHE mission
o	Has excellent teaching skills
o	Is willing to develop and improve their teaching ability
o	Will commit 4-6 hours per week, including all mandatory meetings and teaching approximately one workshop a week for the entire academic year
o	Is a full-time undergraduate student

•	Have the opportunity to apply for leadership positions in PHE
