I would like to make you aware of a great opportunity for young women that we have just set up with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).

The MSKCC Office of Faculty Development announces its Summer Clinical Oncology Research Experience (SCORE)

ATTENTION HUNTER COLLEGE WOMEN STUDENTS!

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is offering an eight-week program designed to encourage undergraduate women to consider careers as oncology (cancer) physicians.

Each student in the program will:
•	Gain clinical research experience mentored by MSKCC faculty and interacting with MSKCC staff
•	Attend institutional/departmental conferences as determined by the student and her mentor
•	Participate in sessions on interview skills, scientific writing, & oral presentation
•	Present their summer research to fellowship peers and mentors at a seminar-style session during the final week of the program.

Program Dates: Monday, June 3 – Friday, July 26, 2013 (Monday – Friday, full-time)
Location: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York ave (between 67th and 68th street)
Eligibility: The program is open to undergraduate and post-baccalaureate women who are students at Hunter College.  Freshmen and under-represented minority students are encouraged to apply.

Once we receive your message indicating your interest and can verify your grades for this semester, you will be sent a link to the application. 

Those invited to apply will ALSO need to have a LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION submitted directly to Taryn Weinstein, Pre-Health Advisor, Hunter College, Room 1209 Hunter East. Letters of recommendation submitted by one of these methods should be signed and on official letterhead. 

All letters of recommendation must be received and applications must be completed by Monday, February 11, 3013. No late applications or letters of recommendation will be accepted.
