Subject: Interesting Summer Internship

Interesting Summer Internship Opportunity

The Honorable Ruth Pickholz (a Hunter alum) and a State Supreme Court Judge
sitting in the Criminal Court of the City of New York is accepting
applications for a summer internship. The Court has a wonderful summer
program for college and law students who one day a week are given the
opportunity to go to various courts including but not limited to Family
Court and Midtown Community Court. They are also taken to Rikers Island and
the Tombs to meet with prison officials and observe the various educational
programs our prisons provide and finally they are taken to Bellevue to
observe the psychiatric prison facility. The other days they observe trials
and other court proceedings or are assigned to the district attorneys
office and /or legal aid society offices. This is a great opportunity for
anyone exploring or considering a career in criminal law. You will see the
system in action (you will not be bored) by observing trials, shadowing
attorneys and being mentored by a judge.

This is an unpaid but very flexible opportunity in terms of hours. You do
not have to participate in the internship on a full-time basis. It is also
possible to apply for some funding from Hunter to subsidize an unpaid
internship.

For further info please contact me or Paula Wicklow, the internship
coordinator, at [log in to unmask]
