SMDEP @Yale
Yale Univeristy, an Ivy League school in Connecticut, has a particular interest in recruiting underrepresented students from Hunter College for SMDEP this summer. Yale's SMDEP program will be running from June 19th-July 29th, 2011. They are requesting applications be submitted by February 1, 2011.
Summer Medical and Dental Education Program
Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) is a FREE (full tuition, housing, and meals) six-week summer academic enrichment program that offers freshman and sophomore college students intensive and personalized medical and dental school preparation. This program has 12 different locations across the country.
Who Qualifies: Freshman and Sophomores with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA who:
identify with a group that is racially/ethnically underrepresented in medicine and/or dentistry (as defined independently by each program site)
comes from an economically or educationally disadvantaged background
has demonstrated interest in issues affecting underserved populations
Cost: Free
Stipend: Varies by program site
Length: 6 weeks; dates vary by site
Application Deadline: March 1, 2011. Recommended date: February 1, 2011
