Hi everyone: I wanted to let you know that I will be out of the office
alot this week--both my sister and mom are having some health issues so
I need to stay on top of things with them. That said, I did want to
let you know that there are several premed conferences coming up in
April. April 1st NYU medical school's SNMA chapter will host a
conference. The details are in my office and I will send the flyer out
when I am in tomorrow. Another big conference, with a recruitment
fair, will be held at UMNDJ's medical school in Newark, NJ on April
22nd. The medical, dental, optometry, and vet schools from
Massachusetts to D.C. will be on hand to speak with students one on
one. Our own premed club and postbac club are working with me to
organize a bus to take us there. Students who are interested should
let me know ASAP. There will be a deposit (so that people are sure to
come) which will be refundable IF you attend. Students taking the MCAT
in April will not be able to come--its the same day! Both of these
events will share admissions, financial aid and MCAT prep seminars.
Yours truly will do the financial aid/debt management talk for both
events. Another upcoming event is our own health fair. Again, details
will follow this week. Please tell your friends to join the listserv!
I will be posting answers next week to questions I have been gathering
regarding the linkage programs.

reminder:
STUDENTS APPLYING THIS YEAR WHO WANT SPRING COMMITTEE LETTERS MUST HAVE
THEIR FILES COMPLETE BY THIS WEEK!!

Please send me information about events or issues that you think I need
to address to the larger body. Suggestions regarding where to get
tutoring, volunteer opportunities you know of and anything else of
interest to all of us would be GREATLY appreciated.

Enjoy the first days of March! Ms. Wood-Hill
