FYI. There is a $20.00 registration fee. Students in MAPS, Biology and
AMSA clubs may want to add this to their budget so that you can receive
monies to attend.

Subject: Healthcare / Medical Interpretation Conference (Great learning
opportunity for pre-meds)

Dear Ms. Wood-Hill,

A colleague of mine, the interpreter services manager at
NewYork-Presbyterian, is putting together a medical conference which would
be a wonderful learning opportunity for pre-med and pre-health students.
This is the third annual one-day seminar in medical interpreting. Healthcare
providers, interpreters, hospital administrators and others will be present
to discuss progress, best practices, and burning issues in the delivery of
healthcare to limited-English-proficiency patients.

DATE:
Thursday, October 16, 2008
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

LOCATION:
Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian
166th Street and Broadway

Participants would get a chance to hear some amazing speakers, including the
CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Dr. Herbert Pardes. The keynote speaker for the
conference is the Senior VP from Joint Commission,
Dr. Paul Schyve. Students get discount-registration of $20 if they register
before September 26th. I'm attaching the relevant flier with more
information and registration details.

Would you please distribute the information with the appropriate listservs?
