Internship Opportunity: Coalition for Debtor Education

 

The Coalition for Debtor Education teaches financial education, mostly
targeting vulnerable populations.  We are housed at Fordham Law School,
which generously provides us with an office, technology and printing
services.   The organization's work offers the opportunity to meet a number
of those involved in the NYC policy community; I met Congressman Rangel and
several of his aides on Saturday when I was a panel member for Harlem
Financial Literacy Day.

 

I am the only full-time employee.  Much of our teaching is done with the
help of a corps of volunteers. In the office, we always need some help,
often related to technology.

 

I am currently seeking an unpaid intern who can update our website and aid
in developing a capability for webinars, podcasts and online workbooks as
teaching tools. We'd even like to join Facebook and Linked-in.  Hours are
flexible. In return, the intern will have full ownership of the projects, an
addition to his/her resume, and will learn the valuable financial
information we teach.  Ideally, we prefer a college age intern but will
consider any age.

 

Qualifications:

17 years old or older

Understanding of technology

Available to work at least 10 hours per week
