RE: THE 2004 MANHATTAN BOROUGH HEARING

For the first time, we are scheduling the Board of Trustees Manhattan
Borough hearing on the same day as the regular Board public hearing on
the
policy calendar. The two hearings will be held as follows:

Tuesday, January 20, 2004
January Board Public Hearing: 4:00 p.m.
* Board Manhattan Borough hearing:      5:00 p.m.

Both hearings will take place at the Hunter College School of Social
Work,
129 East 79th Street, Tenth Floor, Room 1010, New York City.

* As you know, the borough hearings of the Board of Trustees are required
by
the New York State Education Law, which states that "the Board of
Trustees
shall hold at least one public hearing each year in the five boroughs of
the
City of New York. The purpose of such hearings shall be to receive
testimony
and statements from concerned individuals about university issues."

A comprehensive description of the borough hearings and related
information
is available through the CUNY homepage, www.cuny.edu (click on
"trustees").

Thank you for your cooperation.
