  East New York Farms!is starting an exciting new program this fall.Through
this program,local residents, organizations and business can apply for
grants
for projects that will increase access to healthy food in our
community.These
projects can be garden related,non-garden related, new projects or expanded
projects.Some examples of possible projects are:
. A garden putting in row covers or a greenhouse to help you grow more food
. A bodega installing a fruit stand or juicer
. A daycare center starting a garden to produce food for their summer meals

 
  Total amount of grants awarded in first year is $2500 with $10,000 being
available next year.Applications are available now and are due December 21st
2011.If you are interested in applying for grant,or joining the committee to
do
outreach and review grant proposals.
