April 2003: Remembrance Month and ICC Victims Trust Fund Campaign The Independent Student Coalition for the International Criminal Court (http://www.isc-icc.org) would like to invite you to participate in our Remembrance Month during the month of April. We are dedicating this month to many historical, yet tragic, events that occurred during April: Ø April 6, 1994 Rwandan Genocide began Ø April 17, 1975 Khmer Rouge gained power in Cambodia Ø April 24, 1914 Armenian Genocide began Ø April 29 Holocaust Memorial Day To commemorate the victims of these and many other horrific events, the ISC-ICC joins the Washington Working Group on the International Criminal Court (WICC) in their Victims Trust Fund Campaign (http://www.victimstrustfund.org). The Victims Trust Fund will provide direct reparations to victims of human rights abuses and their family through the International Criminal Court. The campaign is an important way to both raise money for the fund, and educate Americans about how they can get themselves and their congressional representatives involved with Victims Rights and the ICC. You can help with the campaign by distributing information about the Victims Trust Fund and the campaign in your local community and encourage other individuals and organizations to get involved as well. If you would like to join the campaign, you will receive a kit which consists of information about the International Criminal Court, the Victims' Trust Fund and the details about the campaign as well other important and useful information that would help you in your efforts to support the campaign. For more information about how to get involved please contact Maria Weydemuller, Interim Chair for the ISC-ICC Subcommittee on Victims Rights, at [log in to unmask]
