BACKGROUND:
The New York Foundation makes grants to groups in the five
boroughs of
JOB TITLE:
Summer Program Intern
RESPONSIBILITIES:
¨ Monitor
the summer grants program
¨ Visit
each community organization and prepare brief site visit reports
¨ Write a
final report describing the internships and evaluating the program
¨ Assist
in the preparation of workshops for interns in community organizing
¨ Assist
in the preparation of and attend a closing event for all participating agencies
in mid-August
QUALIFICATIONS:
¨ Interest
in inner city neighborhoods and the non-profit sector
¨ 18-23
years of age (undergraduates preferred)
¨ Excellent
writing and communication skills
¨ Ability
to work independently and manage time effectively
¨ Ability
to collaborate with supervisor
¨ Willingness
to travel to neighborhoods in all boroughs of
¨ Knowledge
or experience of community organizing a plus
STIPEND:
¨ Full-time
($450/week), June 12, 2006 to August 18, 2006
