Michelle Sparacino of the AAMC (Association of American Medical Schools), which controls the writing, administrating and scoring of the MCAT, will be our speaker at the seminar, addressing the changes being made to the MCAT so that everyone has a chance to be prepared. This may be the only chance for students in the city to get access to a prominent member of the AAMC. This event will be free for the students, although we are asking your school to contribute $30 as a registration fee. The seminar will be an excellent opportunity for pre-meds from all over the city to meet their peers. Issues to be address by Michelle Sparacino include but are not limited to - Registration - Seating, Location, Setting - What AAMC does to improve access to minorities in terms of the MCAT and med school admission in general - Costs of the Computer Based Technology (CBT) - How the CBT is different - How to best prepare - How meds schools use MCAT scores - Difficulties and successes minorities have had with the MCAT - How to use the resources of our colleges to help us prepare The event will be 11:00 12:00 with reception to follow Friday Nov 3rd, 2006 Barnard College 3009 Broadway RSVP [log in to unmask] We would like to get in contact with some of your pre-med groups on campus such as The Minority Association of Pre-health Students and The Pre-Med Club, in order to invite them to this event. Please let me know whether or not you have any questions. Thank You Naila Campbell
