World AIDS Day December 1st is World AIDS Day and a
time to reflect on what you can do to help fight this world-wide
pandemic. There are nonprofits in NYC devoted to working with
AIDS/HIV patients or helping with education and advocacy that are in
need of dedicated volunteers. To find out more about what is
happening to address AIDS around the world, join the Peace Corps for
an HIV/AIDS Awareness Panel Discussion on November 30th with The New
School University and a video presentation. The panel will be
composed of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers with an HIV/AIDS
focus. |

November is Domestic Violence Awareness Month New York City's tough
stance against domestic violence has resulted in the opening of
the Family
Justice Center in Brookyln (FJC). The Center allows
victims of domestic violence to access comprehensive services
under one roof. Volunteer for this or any of the great
organizations who work to raise awareness of this important issue
and give aid to victims.
