Subject: MCAT Master Class for Summer Test Dates

Dear Hopeful MCAT Test Taker,

I want to inform you of an exciting MCAT prep opportunity.  Kaplan is offering an MCAT Master Class for the summer 2007 MCAT test dates.  The Master Class will be taught by Kaplan’s top MCAT instructor, Dr. Jeff Koetje, regional director for graduate health programs in New York City.  This class will feature additional Kaplan MCAT faculty: their role will be to facilitate student mastery by providing out-of-class guidance for the full use of the suite of Kaplan study materials. The support teachers will attend every session led by Dr. Koetje; in addition, they will by the lead teachers for extra sessions consisting of foundation review and topical passage review (schedule to be determined).  These additional sessions will be available only to students enrolled in the Master Class.  Dr. Koetje’s teaching and the additional sessions and faculty support provide you with a great opportunity to maximize your test day performance

The course will be held at the Manhattan International Center at 131 W. 56th Street.  Starting with the diagnostic test on Sunday, April 1, the class will meet thereafter on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, and will conclude on June 19.  All full-length exams are in the computer-based test interface and students will take their practice tests at home or in the Kaplan center.

Let’s meet your instructor:

Dr. Jeff Koetje, graduate of Johns Hopkins University (B.A., Biology, 1996) and Northwestern University Medical School (M.D., 2000), has been teaching for Kaplan for nearly six years.  Beginning as a part-time MCAT teacher for the Chicago Kaplan centers, he distinguished himself for his exemplary work on behalf of Kaplan's premedical students and was nominated for Regional Teacher of the Year in 2003.  During his tenure at the Chicago Centers he became a teacher trainer and taught not only the MCAT course, but also the DAT, OAT and PCAT courses.  Moving to NYC, he was promoted to the Metro Region's first full time teacher position and was nominated for National Teacher of the Year in 2005.  He was awarded the honor of recognition as Metro Region Teacher of the Year for 2005.  For the past year, Dr. Koetje has continued to teach as part of his role as the Regional Director of Graduate Health Programs (aka "The MCAT Specialist").  He has contributed directly to the evolution of the Kaplan MCAT course as a member of the curriculum development team charged with the responsibility of revising the course for the new computer based test.  He has worked extensively with Kaplan MCAT teachers and staff to ensure that students receive the best, most comprehensive and realistic preparation for their MCAT.

We encourage you take advantage of this opportunity for a unique and comprehensive test prep experience.  Remember to forward this email on to your members and anyone else who may be interested.  There is no additional charge for the Master Class!  For more information regarding Kaplan’s MCAT Master Class, please reply to this email or call the Manhattan Village center at 212.590.2800 and ask about MCAT class, MCNY7009.  Or, you may call 1.800.KAP.TEST and speak with one of Kaplan’s customer representatives.
