(posted 4/19, 20:20) CUNY delays implementation of secure access to SIMS
CUNY has postponed the implementation of secure access to the mainframe
until Thursday, April 28 at 8:00 am. Until then the old versions of the tn3270
emulators and FTP will continue to work.

(posted 4/19, 20:20) Home access to student records
Faculty and staff may still have access to SIMS from home. As of Thursday
April 28, this access will be limited to the use of secure terminal emulation
and secure FTP using SSL only. The new CUNY Hummingbird terminal
emulation client will available for all Hunter owned systems. ICIT is
working to recommend secure tn3270 and FTP clients that faculty and
staff will be able to use on privately owned machines.

(posted 4/17, 20:15) Changes to student records
CUNY security policy forbids the changing of student personal data in
student records from off-campus sites. Student personal data does not
include the setting of permissions for students to enroll in courses or
the use of the webgrade program. These items may be changed from home.
