This year, the three-day exhibit will highlight the body of digital and new media art, including video, interactive, installation, performance, games and web-based art, produced by students and faculty of the IMA-MFA program. <br>











<br>The show&#39;s title—<b>IMAterial</b>—refers not only to the body of work produced by the Hunter College&#39;s Integrated Media Arts MFA program, but to the physical intangibility of new media and digital work; the challenge of interdisciplinary and new media artists to make their artistic and political work both relevant and of substance; and, finally, to the underlying spirit that drives the artistic production and practice of the students and faculty in the IMA-MFA program.<br>











<br>This event is sponsored by the Hunter College Integrated Media Arts MFA program and EYEspeak, the graduate student organization. The MFA in Integrated Media Arts is a unique graduate program that focuses on the creative production of media with a social orientation. Based in New York City—the global hub of old and new media technology—the IMA-MFA program encourages students to explore a wide variety of existing and emerging forms and communicate their messages in the rapidly evolving contemporary media environment. Projects by students in the program have ranged from public exhibitions, performances and screenings to online networked game environments to rich media for PDAs and cell phones. From intimate personal stories with universal human appeal to global collaborative networks to in-depth media critique, IMA-MFA students work to bring resonant messages to the medium.<br>
