of Pittsburgh Post-Bacc Opportunity
Colleagues –
The University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health
Sciences has obtained funding for a 1-year post-baccalaureate experience for
URM students who are interested in biomedical graduate training. UPIRTA
(University of Pittsburgh Intramural Research Training Award) includes 2
research pathways: autism and antibiotic resistant infectious disease. All students are eligible to apply, however, as funding comes from the State of Pennsylvania,
preference in admission is given to:
·
students from
Lincoln and Cheyney universities (PA’s two HBCUs)
·
the University
of Pittsburgh, and
·
Pittsburgh-area
and Pennsylvania natives
If you have URM students who are preparing for graduate
school, and can benefit from a rich, mentored, funded research experience prior
to application, please pass this link along: http://www.healthdiversity.pitt.edu/programs/upirta.php.
Please let me know if you or your students have questions.
Thank you,
Paula Davis
