Elements of Style Anniversary

The Elements of Style by William Strunk, Jr., and E.B. White—the most widely read and influential manual of English writing style—turns 50 years old on April 16, 2009. Join us for an evening celebration and discussion of the influence of “the little book” with an illustrious group of writers and critics, including Barbara Wallraff, Language Columnist for The Atlantic; Roy Blount, Jr., author and panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!; Roger Rosenblatt, author, essayist, and commentator for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer; and Lauren Lipton, journalist and novelist.
