health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health
problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from
cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. 

Looking for an opportunity that will test your business skills and prepare
you to meet the demands of a challenging workforce?  Interested in

relationship management? 

Special Events Intern - Learn to provide resources and staff support to
communities and organizations by assisting in the planning, implementation,
and evaluation of American Cancer Society fundraising activities. Involves
all aspects of event planning (Relay For Life, Making Strides Against Breast
Cancer, Gala and  other fundraising projects.) Partner with volunteers to
successfully carry out fundraising activities.

     10A.  Manager of Patient and Family Services - American Cancer Society

The Manager of Patient and Family Services (PAFS) plays an important role in
maintaining relationships with regional priority health systems and the
implementation of on-site navigation programs.  The PAFS Manager also
ensures access to quality services and programs and maintains a network of
volunteers/survivors to ensure the region's capacity to respond to healthy
system's referrals and survivor needs.  In addition, the Manager provides
direct support to survivors in partnership with the Patient Service Center
and responds to the administrative needs of the department.  Assumes
responsibility for meeting Performance Achievement Communication Tool
(P.A.C.T.) priorities and mentoring Patient and Family Services team
regarding PACT objectives and goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
* Partners with the Director of PAFS to sustain effective relationships with
priority healthy systems, consistent with on-site navigation. 
* Recruits Survivor/Volunteers to provide a consistent quality on-site
presence in selected health systems. 
* In part, participates with Director in the orientation and maintaining
quality services to increase support for systematic referrals. In addition,
supervise and create opportunities for shadowing and enhance capacity of
volunteer/survivors. 
* Develops effective relationships with Patient Service Center to ensure
increasing referrals and promote the value of ACS in the continuum of care. 

Qualifications and Key Competencies: 
* Comfort in Health System environment. 
* Navigation skills and awareness of community resources. 
* Ability to supervise both paid and volunteer Patient Navigators. 
* Dexterity with Seibel and Bobj environment. 
* Two-year degree or equivalent experience in health related field. 
* Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
* Regional and Division wide travel. 
* Flexible work hours with some weekends and evening hours.
