SNMA Region IX MAPS Conference – Save the Date:  Saturday, January 23, 2010

This year, it’s all about the HUSTLE:  Humility, Unity, Strength, Tenacity, Leadership and Enthusiasm!

 

Region IX (New York and New Jersey) of the SNMA will host its annual MAPS Premedical Conference on January 23, 2010 at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  In addition to providing vital information on the medical school admissions process, this event will teach participants how, with a little “hustle,” they can enrich their premedical experience and improve their candidacy for admission to medical school and other health professional institutions.  Breakout sessions include such topics as:

 

-          Black Men in Medicine

-          Options for Post-Baccalaureate programs

-          Optimizing my first two years of college

-          Introduction to summer programs

-          How to improve my study skills and techniques

-          One-on-one personal statement development

-          An introduction to osteopathic medicine
