The student-run Center for Discourse on U.S. Health Care Policy at Weill
Cornell Medical College would like to invite you to attend a 4-member panel
discussion on medical malpractice in the U.S. The discussion will explore
opinions on the extent to which the system provides justice for victims and
reasonable retribution for physicians, as well as criticisms the panel
members have of the system.


The discussion is framed from the perspectives of medical practice, hospital
administration, and malpractice litigation itself. Our panelists, all of
whom possess a depth of knowledge and experience of medical malpractice,
will include:



*	Amos Grunebaum-Director of Obstetrics, Chief of Labor and Delivery,
and Director of Patient Safety for the Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College 
*	Andrew Barovick, Esq- Medical Malpractice Lawyer and author of The
New York Medical Malpractice Law Blog 

*	Paul S. Appelbaum, MD - Elizabeth K. Dollard Professor of
Psychiatry, Medicine and Law, Director, Division of Law, Ethics &
Psychiatry, Columbia University 

*	Brian J Noonan - Director of Claims & Litigation Management and
Associate General Counsel, Office of Legal Affairs and Risk Management,
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital
