Please do not auto-reply Communications in Public Health Intern We are seeking an avid social media user as a communication intern to manage various social media accounts to share HEI news and public health resources as well as to help maintain HEI's website and participate in other new media-related events and activities. The intern will research and document the latest news, publications, and resources related to health equity. The intern will regularly communicate with staff to ensure coordination between social media sites as they are updated on a weekly basis. Excellent researching, communication, writing, and organizational skills are required. The intern should be driven, creative, and keep up with the latest social media trends to help develop strategies to effectively use social media and monitor the results of their use. In addition, the intern must be familiar with public health issues. Previous experience with HTLM coding preferred but not required. Graduate students (public health, communication, marketing) preferred but advanced college students will also be considered. The position will begin on May 21, 2012 and will be 12-15 hours/week of which 8 hours in HEI office until August 20, 2012. The internship is unpaid (with the exception of a small one-time stipend of $500 at the end of the term), however, it can count towards school credits. HEI will work within the internships/fieldwork requirements of your school. This may also be a great practicum for a recent graduate. Previous experience researching grant prospects and/or event coordination is required. The intern should be internet-savvy and able to effectively use the Foundation Center's resources and other internet search tools. The intern will regularly document grant prospects, rate their potential to give, and communicate the findings to staff. The intern should be driven, creative, have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
