CAPP Senior Health Educator

Hours: Full-Time 35 Hours (Flexible for Part-Time 20-25 Hours)
Job Description
The CAPP Senior Health Educator (SHE) will work under the supervision of the Project Director and coordinate the offering and arranging of the selected evidence-based adolescent sexual health education program.  SHE will be responsible for maintaining and submitting all evidence-based evaluation tools.  SHE will assist the Project Director (PD) with the referral system for teens to easily make appointments and times for teens to walk-in to get pregnancy, STI/HIV testing, Emergency Contraception, contraceptive counseling and management.  SHE will establish follow-up on those who do not keep appointments and ensure that follow-up appointments are kept.  SHE will work closely with PD and Fordham University’s Regional Educational Technology Center (RETC) team to utilize the technology resources to facilitate adolescent-friendly ways to intake information, schedule appointments, follow ups and provide more adolescent sexual reproductive health resources.  SHE will supervise the Health Educators and work with them to develop goals and objectives necessary for effective implementation of the evidence-based curriculum, as well as coordinate additional trainings for the Health Educators.  SHE will also work with PD on developing and implementing the Parent-Teen Communication workshops.
Requirement: BA/BS degree in healthcare field preferred.  MPH/MA in Health Education.  A minimum of two (2) years experience coordinating, facilitating and implementing health education programs and activities for adolescents.  Experience with NYC Department of Education comprehensive sexuality policy and guidelines.  Must have knowledge of NYC Minor’s Rights to Confidential Reproductive Health Care and Public Insurance eligibility for adolescents.
