Bristol, MD, MPH, CPE, FAAP Chief Medical Officer/Pediatrician, Administration at the Shanghai United Family Hospitals and Clinics (SHU) on Monday, April 23, 2012 6 -7 pm Lehman College, Carman Hall B39 Dr. Bristol will discuss the nature and gaps in the Chinese healthcare system and the latest five year plan which has a major focus on how foreign healthcare organizations can help the country's healthcare system as a whole, preventive care and emerging issues like obesity, smoking related issues and infectious diseases. The focus of the healthcare system is more on access to regular preventive care, increasing the number of family doctors and getting citizens to go to primary care instead of tertiary care centers for routine services. Dr. Bristol will also discuss reforming the pharmacy, laboratories and radiology services and delinking them from funding to hospitals, doctors and emergency services.
