Dear Colleague: This Health Policy and Management hybrid course is a Summer I elective for HPM, Community Health, Urban Affairs and Planning, and Social Work students. It seeks to deal with institutional, workforce and infrastructure issues in under-service to a variety of populations with respect to human services. mental health and health care delivery. It engages students to adopt an under-served population, examine an institution for its service to that population, analyze barriers and institutional strategies, and design or develop a set of recommendations for change. Current federal laws for service delivery, including the new social benefits assessment requirements for non profit hospitals are reviewed, as well as case studies of systems attempting to deal with delivery disparities in the US.
