The Metro New Jersey Region of the American Cancer Society is in search of an Intern to assist with the recruitment and enrollment process of our national study Cancer Prevention Study-3 in the Greater Newark Area. Applicants must have a passionate interest in community wellness, health, research, non-profit and related fields.

Internship Details:
· August 2012 through October 2012
· 10-20 hours/ week (depending on workflow) and will receive hourly wage
· Coordinate logistical aspects of the enrollment, with guidance from staff team
· Maintain promotional log, tracking all promotional efforts towards the campaign
· Engage in community outreach and provide CPS-3 awareness to local groups and organizations
· Ensure that the project is on track, by utilizing provided timeline and templates, alerting regional staff partners and Study Coordinator to any lags or concerns
· Implement plan, based on best practices, to achieve projections for community champions, enrollment appointments and enrollees
· Work with staff/volunteer team to recruit and empower community champions
· Plan kick-off event for community champions
· Work with Marketing/Communications Department to coordinate press conference
· Assist in recruitment and training of CPS-3 volunteers
· Communication between local and national departments regarding enrollment events
· The right candidate will have reliable transportation and the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the community
