A focus on meeting NYS >standards through an exciting curriculum is expected. >Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of >the Project STEP program director, the >instructor will assist in the development of a >rigorous Service Learning and Literacy component >of the program. He/She will also support the >students in their high school selection process, if necessary. >Responsibilities: >1. Facilitate a Service Learning and Social >Justice based curriculum for students in 7th or 8th grade. >2. Provide academic support as needed and lead >class during instructional hour 3. >4. Encourage and lead workshops and projects >that foster academic, cultural and artistic >growth 5. Attend all required staff/planning meetings >Qualifications: >• Stroong academic skills in English >• Demonstrated interestt in the field of education, child development >• Bachellor’s degree in related field. Masters a plus. >• Minnimum two years professional experience working with children in a >classroom, after school, or community based >environment.
