A project is available for a research participant in the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG), Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health (OASH), in the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Washington, DC.  The OSG is responsible for supporting collaboration among the 17 federal departments involved in the National Prevention Council.

The research participant will:

  • support coordination of National Prevention Council activities related to promoting positive health behaviors in the federal workplace and with partners in federal programs.  
  • research and analyze policy alternatives to support National Prevention Council working groups and member departments. 

The appointment is for up to one year and may be renewed upon recommendation of OSG, based on project needs and priorities, and is subject to the availability of funds. The participant will receive a stipend based on educational level and complexity of the project. The appointment is full time at OSG in Washington, DC. The Research Participation Program for the Department of Health and Human Services is administered by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. Participants do not become employees of OSG or the program administrator, and there are no fringe benefits paid.
