About the Presenter
Deborah Westerling, RD, LDN is a Director of Nutrition Services at The Renfrew Center. She has been working in the field of dietetics since December of 1998. She was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from West Chester University in 1998 and completed her Dietetic internship with Sodexo Healthcare Services. Deborah has experience working in hospitals in the Philadelphia area.

Deborah began her work at Renfrew in 2001 as an Inpatient Team Nutritionist. She has worked in all levels of treatment including Day/IOP and served as a dietitian for Renfrew’s outpatient services. She was recently promoted to Director of Nutrition for the Mid-Atlantic Renfrew Centers.

Double Trouble: Dealing with Diabetes and Eating Disorders

This webinar will address the recommended nutrition treatment approaches for Diabulimia, a complex condition in which diabetes and bulimia occur together to give rise to severe medical problems. Attendees will learn how to effectively treat both the eating disorder and the diabetes utilizing the nutrition philosophy of balance, variety and moderation for this dual diagnosis issue. Tools will be provided to assist dietitians as well as clinicians to identify, understand and treat these complex disorders in their individual practices.
