Volunteer Opportunity—IMMEDIATE must be available this weekend!
Motivating Action through Community Health Outreach (MAChO)

Calling All College & Graduate Students in NYC!
Volunteer job opportunity to work with youth and transform community health!

Weill Cornell Medical College's Community Service Program, Motivating Action through Community Health Outreach (MAChO) is launching its 2012-2013 Youth Leadership Program (YLP), a project-based learning mentorship initiative for high school students focused on health-oriented community engagement and leadership training. Our pilot year will focus on working within the neighborhood of East Harlem, NYC, to improve community health.
YLP is seeking Consultants--undergraduate or graduate students from diverse fields of study--who are passionate about healthy living and mentoring youth. Through YLP, Consultants have the opportunity to work with universities, hospitals, and community organizations on projects to create positive change in the lives of youth and their families.

This is your chance to be part of something great.

When: The YLP runs from late September 2012 through April 2013, during which workshops are held once/month on Saturdays.

Where: All workshops are held at the Silberman School of Social Work and CUNY Public Health Building (Hunter College) on 119th Street at 3rd Avenue.

Contact: Email us at [log in to unmask] to request an application! Apply TODAY!

The first Workshop is THIS SATURDAY (9/29) from 10am-6pm. You MUST be able to attend this 1st workshop!

More Volunteer Opportunities with MAChO
These opportunities does not require a commitment this weekend. Attached is a list of open positions.

Apply to become a part of Weill Cornell's MAChO Program and help educate and inspire children (8-13) in East Harlem to take control of their health and begin to change these statistics!

MAChO is a holistic and innovative behavioral modification program designed to combat the childhood obesity epidemic at the grassroots level. The program targets adolescents living in underserved communities. Our aim is to incite lasting change by teaching adolescents about the importance of nutrition, fitness and personal development, to empower them to take control of their health and their lives. Our immediate focus is not only on making healthier choices, but also on instilling key values and skills which can be applied throughout one's lifetime.

We are currently recruiting applicants to join our team.

Website: Feel free to visit www.machoprogram.org for more information about the program.

Contact: Please email [log in to unmask] indicating which position you are interested in with a recent resume and a brief statement regarding your interest and pertinent background, if any. Also please indicate if you are a NYS licensed EMT. Of course, you are not limited to one position and can also express interest in an on-site position in addition to an administrative role.
