CUNY FoodFEST is a day-long event open for CUNY students and the general public focused on educating and engaging participants in stimulating conversation about various topics in the food justice movements in honor of Food Day. Students attend workshops and
meet with various food justice organizations from around the city. Workshops are led by experienced members of the food community and cover such topics ranging from food policy and hunger to composting and ethical food businesses. There also will be cooking
lessons, a highlight from past FoodFESTs, where chefs teach participants healthy and easy recipes to do at home for a nutritious and delicious meal--and we all reap the benefits at the communal, reflective dinner to conclude the day. NEW to FoodFEST
2012 is a kids' track throughout the day--bring your siblings, cousins, children and neighbors, and they'll be just as busy learning about food as you will!
See the entire list of events this Sunday here:
No RSVP required and all food will be provided! Doors are open all day from 10 AM breakfast to 8 PM dinner, so guests are free to come for the whole day or just a portion of the day (just check the schedule and plan accordingly).
We hope to see you at this year's CUNY FoodFEST!
*Guests are more than welcome to wear their costumes!
