Subject: The New York Academy of Sciences Conference on HIV Epidemics

Dear Dr. Jones,

On Friday, December 7, 2012, The New York Academy of Sciences in partnership with The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will host a conference titled, "New Paradigms of Risk and Protection: Understanding the HIV Epidemics among Gay and Bisexual Men" at our conference center in downtown Manhattan. This conference will explore how novel and more effective HIV prevention programs for men who have sex with men may reduce infectiousness through markedly expanding testing and treatment of HIV-positive men, and reduce risk of acquisition among HIV-negative men through the use of Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), the development of a rectal microbicide, and increased access to and coverage for condoms and condom-compatible lubricant. Current prevention tools and the policy reforms and structural changes key to expanding coverage and reaching men with culturally competent care will be examined. A networking reception will follow the event. More information can be found below or by visiting http://www.nyas.org/HIVinMSM

Based on the content of this conference, we thought you and your students, staff, and faculty may be interested to attend. Could you kindly spread the word about this conference via your list serve(s)? I’ve provided text below my signature for distribution.

Please note: this conference is also available as a live, interactive webinar. Advance registration is required for the webinar.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or require any additional information.

Kind regards,

CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION:
