We are excited to announce the launch of Human Impact Partners' (HIP) inaugural Health and Equity Fellowship program. From June 2013 – May of 2014, HIP will host one Fellow focused on building their leadership skills in the fields of Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and Health in All Policies (HiAP).

The goal of HIP’s Fellowship program is to increase the racial and ethnic diversity of young professionals committed to promoting the consideration of health and equity in decision-making through HIA and HiAP approaches. The full-time Fellow will be provided with ongoing training and mentorship, and will have the opportunity to propose and conduct a project that will contribute to advancing the consideration of health and equity in decision-making.  The HIP Fellow will also participate in the conduct of one of HIP’s HIA or Health in All Policies projects. Specifically, we seek a talented, self-motivated individual who is committed to health and equity for all. The following are additional qualifications we seek:

Required qualifications:
- Completion of a master’s degree;
- At least 2 years of relevant job experience;
- Strong research skills; and
- Strong writing skills.

Fellowship applicants should also demonstrate:
- A commitment to addressing issues of health and equity;
- Interest in a career that aims to focus on addressing health and equity;
- Sustained engagement with communities that are underrepresented in decision-making processes;
- The ability to work well with diverse groups; and
- Strong personal initiative and motivation.

Additional experience that would be an asset for this position:
- Experience conducting participatory research and working with communities;
- Community organizing; and
- In addition to English language fluency, mastery of at least one additional language commonly spoken in the U.S.
