Garden Interns (Two Positions Available)
Duties: Assisting Outdoor Education Director (OED)  and Executive Director (ED) during after school and summer hours, including leading gardening curriculum and maintaining gardens. Building gardening skills, positive attitudes, leadership capacity, and enforcing teamwork amongst our students (ages 7 - 12). May involve some special events. Classrooms of  20 - 100 children, depending on the size of the class or event.
Details: This position requires the ability to work sensitively with parents and children. Must possess strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. High attention to detail required. Must love to play outside, have the ability to participate in vigorous physical activity while leading activities with kids and have the ability to model positive behavior. Must co-lead cooking workshops using food grown in gardens. Actively engage a diverse range of students in respectful and inclusive, healthy gardening experiences. This is a high-energy position. Must be physically active and able to lead active, outdoor workshops for a 4-hour+ period. Must be enrolled in a local university or college working towards a degree in environmental science or a related major.
Commitment: March - June (20 hours/week, 2-6 p.m., M-F); July - August (20 hours/week, 8 a.m. - Noon, M-F); Times may vary.
Pay: $10/hr
Location: East Harlem
