Subject: Student Opportunity - NYSDOH Study of Hepatitis C in Persons Who Inject Drugs (PWID)
Importance: High

Good afternoon,

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) AIDS Institute is currently recruiting student volunteers to assist with a study to learn more about the activities that put people who inject drugs at risk for becoming infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV).  This study is being conducted in collaboration with participating syringe exchange programs throughout the New York City area. The study involves administering a hepatitis C rapid antibody test (finger stick) and a face-to-face questionnaire.  Results will be used to inform prevention and intervention activities.  All study personnel will be trained by the NYSDOH prior to study implementation.

Would you be willing to share the attached flyer with your under graduate and graduate students?

Thank you in advance.
