Abbott Nutrition Award. This award will provide financial support to a doctoral student who is planning to conduct research in the area of renal disease and nutrition. Grant amount: $5,000 Download Application 

 

Allene Vaden Memorial Grant for Foodservice Management Research This grant is given to encourage young academics to enhance and stimulate research in foodservice management. Grant amount: $5,000. Download Application  

 

Amy Joye Memorial Research Award. This grant is given to honor the memory of Amy Joye by fostering the scientific development of future nutrition leaders, especially in South Carolina and Georgia. Applicants are required to work with a mentor whose projects involve human research and focus on: Obesity prevention/weight control, Dietary assessment methodology to investigate/enhance accuracy of dietary reports or Fruit/vegetable gardens. Grant amount: $5,000. Download Application 

 

Ann A. Hertzler Research Grant. The research proposal should address the nutrition care for treatment of children who are  overweight. The seed grant is intended to gather preliminary data to enable further funding. Projects should focus on implementation of the Evidence-Based Pediatric Weight Management Nutrition Practice Guidelines.  Examples of projects might include (1) Development and testing supplemental educational/counseling materials (2) Determining feasibility of use of EBG in diverse populations or settings (3) Focus groups for identification and evaluation of barriers to implement EBG in a variety of settings, or (4) Development and testing performance improvement protocols evaluating the implementation of the EBG.  As background information to help frame a potential research project, the applicant should reference the Evidence-Based Pediatric Weight Management Nutrition Practice Guidelines. The application should also state precisely how this preliminary data will be used to pursue additional research funds and indicate the specific funding agency and the research concept of the larger grant to be pursued.Grant amount: $5,000. Download Application 

 

Colgate Palmolive Fellowship in Nutrition, Oral Health/Dental Education. This grant is given to support research in nutrition and oral health or dental education. Grant amount: $15,000. Non-US residents may apply. Download Application 

 

Dietitians in Nutrition Support DPG Research Grant. This grant is given to provide research funding to a Dietitians in Nutrition Support DPG member. Grant amount: $5,000. Visit the Dietitians in Nutrition Support DPG website for more information 

 

Healthy Aging DPG Community Based Applied Research/Best Practice Award. This award encourages applied research projects that improve the nutritional status, wellbeing and independence of community residing older adults. Ideally, the award will be used to solve an identify problems pertaining to dietetic practice, program administration, service/care coordination and/or behavioral practices of older adults. Grant amount: $4,000. Download Application 

 

Herbert D. and Nylda Gemple Research Grant This grant is given to encourage the development of and excellence in innovative and unique models to study the correlation of diet and nutrition in treating neurological disorders. Grant amount: $5,000 Download Application 

 

Jean Hankin Nutritional Epidemiology Research Grant. This grant is given to provide financial support to a doctoral student working on a dissertation in the area of nutritional epidemiology. Grant amount: $5,000. Download Application 

 

Julie O'Sullivan Maillet Research Grant. This grant is given for a research project that aims to demonstrate the value of dietetics professionals on the health of the public or demonstrate the evolving role of dietetics professionals in the profession. Grant amount: $1,000. Download Application 

 

McCormick Science Institute Research Award. This grant is given to provide funding for research proposals based on the Academy's Research Agenda for Dietetics. Current topic: Understanding the role of spices and health. Grant amount: $5,000. Download Application 

 

PepsiCo Healthy Lifestyles Innovation Research Grant. This grant is given to recognize and encourage innovative approaches to promote healthy living through nutrition and physical activity. Grant amount: $5,000Download Application 

 

Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group Research Grant. This grant is given for innovative research relating to vegetarian nutrition to an individual who has been a member of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group for at least two years. Grant amount: $5,000. Download Application
