The PRIORITY deadline for the Committee Letter Application was March 15.
The FINAL deadline is June 10. Please visit the website for more
information. 
We do not review personal statements for the Committee Letter
application. The purpose of the application is for us to review your
first draft. 

Once submitted you will be contacted by the Pre-Health Office. There is
no specific timeline set but beginning in April you will likely be
contacted in 2-3 weeks from time of submission.

SNDA is dedicated to the advancement of underrepresented minorities in
the field of dentistry, and the purpose of our annual Impressions
Program, is to prompt students of all ethnicities to gain interest in
dentistry as a career. 

Get an opportunity to learn why dentistry may be the career for you, and
learn what it takes to gain entry into dental school.

A DAY WITH PERELMAN STUDENTS UNDERREPRESENTED IN MEDICINE

Join us for, “A Day with Penn Underrepresented in Medicine Medical
Students”. This program targets premed students underrepresented in
medicine and provides an opportunity to learn about our curriculum,
student life, and hear first-hand about preparation for admissions to
medical school. Members of the Latino Medical Student Association and
the Student National Medical Association who will also be on hand to
share their personal experiences and tips on how to become the best
possible medical school applicant.

The Clinical and Translational Science Center at Weill Cornell Medical
College invites you to join a special conversation about the enduring
legacy of the one of the darkest moments in American history: the
Tuskegee Syphilis Study, in which federal researchers deceived and
withheld treatment from 399 African-American men who unknowingly had
syphilis. 

The program begins with a reading of Dr. David Feldshuh’s award-winning
dramatization Miss Evers’ Boys, directed by David Ruttura (Associate
Director, Spiderman: Turn off the Dark), with musical direction by
Jonathan Rose, followed by a panel discussion led by medical ethicist Dr.
Joseph Fins and featuring Dr. Feldshuh.

Research and clinical assistant, Reproductive endocrinology—For SENIORS &
POST-BACCALAUREATE STUDENTS

Entry level position for someone planning to go to medical school, but
wishing a year or two of clinical and research activities before
entering.

The applicant would be actively involved with patients and patient care
and also clinical research activities. The job would be divided roughly
50/50 between clinical and research activities.

Job functions include work within private practice and also assisting
with clinical research. 
Clinical research activities may vary but will include a randomized
prospective study designed to improve safety of egg donation and a
project examining the ethics of anonymity in gamete donation.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required, as well
as proficiency in data analysis and good writing skills.

Volunteer with the Muscular Dystrophy Association
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is in search of fun and
enthusiastic volunteer summer camp counselors. The MDA’s 2013 summer
camp will be held August 10-16, 2013 at Camp De Wolfe in Wading River,
NY. Must be 18 years or older. This is a great opportunity for students
interested in Physical Therapy.
Each counselor is assigned to serve as a companion for a camper who’s
affected by a neuromuscular disease. Counselors help their campers with
daily activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and in recreational
activities such as arts, crafts, bowling, swimming and fishing.

The SUNY College of Optometry is proud to offer the Collegiate Science
and Technology Entry Program(CSTEP) Spring Internship and Summer
Academic Program for underrepresented and/or economically disadvantaged
college students (freshman to seniors). 

The Spring Internship allows students to experience and learn about the
field of optometry while shadowing optometrists at our University Eye
Center, going on field trips and learning from special lectures.
Students receive a stipend and make great connections with optometrists,
residents and students.

The Summer Academic Program (SAP), Introduction to Vision Science, is a
gateway course taught by faculty at the College. Upon successful
completion of the one-day a week course, students receive a stipend and
2 graduate level credits for transfer to their home institution. 

Spring Program Dates: Students can apply for our Spring Session taking
place from May 28, 2013 to June 7, 2013. 

SAP Dates: Students can apply for our SAP taking place May 28, 2013 to
July 23, 2013. 

Deadline: The deadline to apply to both programs is April 5, 2013

Eligibility: Applicants must 1) be New York State Residents and 2) be
from an historically underrepresented minority group and/or economically
disadvantaged

7th annual UNLV Dental student Simulation Course 

May 31-June 1, and June 14-15 are the planned dates for this two day
hands on, highly interactive course which allows pre-dental students to
get a firsthand view into what it is like to be a dental student at UNLV
School of Dental Medicine. 

Registration begins April 9th for in-state students, and April 16th for
out-of-State students
