Trends in the sustainable production, distribution, and consumption of food and approaches to world hunger. Guest speakers will include: Paul Thompson (Michigan State University), Professor Emeritus Martin Schreibman, Michael Menser (philosophy), Nancy Romer (psychology), Tammy Lewis (sociology); and panelists and food activists Frances Moore Lappe (founder of the Small Planet Institute and author of Diet for A Small Planet), Beatriz Beckford (Brooklyn Food Coalition), Nicole Taylor (food culturist and host of Hot Grease on Heritage Radio Network); Aki Baker (founder of Adopt a Farm Box, Mark Winston Griffith (director of Brooklyn Movement Center), and Corbin Laedlin (youth program manager of Added Value).
