*************REMARKABLE VOLUNTEER FIELD EXPERIENCE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH STUDENTS!******************
The New York City Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NYC HANES) is looking for public health and other students who desire
to help improve city life and the health of New Yorkers by volunteering for a short, intensive outreach campaign in August. We are assembling an intrepid
Outreach Crew to help create a robust presence and awareness within various NYC communities about a landmark health survey. Residents in those selected neighborhoods may be selected to participate in the study, resulting in the most rigorous snapshot
of the city’s health in a decade.
As an outreach crew-member, you will be responsible for posting flyers and/or stickers around more than 100 neighborhood block groups that have
been randomly selected for inclusion in this study, identifying pivotal neighborhood institutions to approach for endorsement of the study, and taking notes on other important outreach opportunities to build visibility at the neighborhood level.
NYC HANES will need your creativity and energy during a 2-3 week period starting July 29-August 15. Volunteers will work 5-6 hours each day
and can sign up to work as many days as they like. This is a great yet brief opportunity that you can add to your CV!
Visit www.nychanes.org to find out more about the study and
how your help will improve city life.
